FESTO solenoid valves have a solid iron core inside the magnetic sleeve, eliminating dynamic seals and easily preventing external leakage. Electric valves are difficult to control torque, prone to internal leakage, and can even break the valve stem head; the structure of solenoid valves easily controls internal leakage, reducing it to zero. Therefore, solenoid valves are particularly safe to use, especially suitable for corrosive, toxic, or high/low temperature media. Festo cylinders, solenoid valves, pneumatic valves, manual valves, and mechanical valves are widely used in many industries, including automotive, electronics, food processing and packaging, gripping and assembly and industrial robots, water treatment, chemicals, rubber, plastics, textiles, machine tools, metallurgy, construction machinery, rail transportation, papermaking, and printing. FESTO solenoid valves are fundamental automation components used to control fluids; they are actuators and are not limited to hydraulic or pneumatic systems. Solenoid valves are used to control the direction of hydraulic flow; factory machinery is generally controlled by hydraulic systems, which utilizes solenoid valves.

Working Principle of FESTO Solenoid Valves

FESTO solenoid valves contain a sealed chamber with through-holes at different positions, each leading to a different oil pipe. Inside the chamber is a valve, flanked by two electromagnets. When the coil of one electromagnet is energized, the valve body is attracted to the other side. By controlling the movement of the valve body, different drain holes are blocked or opened. The inlet hole is always open, allowing hydraulic oil to enter different drain pipes. The oil pressure then pushes a piston in the hydraulic cylinder, which in turn moves a piston rod, which in turn drives the mechanical device. Thus, controlling the current to the electromagnets controls the mechanical movement.
